3 teams were searching day and night

A resident of a village in Sadar Kotwali area was playing with a 6-year-old child outside her house on October 4, when a young man from the village seduced her, raped her and ran away. Another youth of the village saw the girl crying on the road and took her to her home. The girl’s mother told that when the young man came to drop her, the girl was bleeding from her private parts. Due to this she filed a rape case with the police. The police got the girl treated. SP Abhijeet R Shankar had formed 3 police teams to nab the accused.

Identification was done through CCTV

During the investigation, the police identified the accused with the help of CCTV footage. Since the incident, three police teams were working day and night in search of the accused. At around 5:00 am on Sunday morning, SOG and Kotwali police had an encounter with the accused during checking near the turn of Karampur Mudhi village. In which the accused was shot in the leg. Who has been admitted to the district hospital.

Came to collect the clothes and gun hidden in the bushes

SP Abhijeet R Shankar said that during interrogation, the accused told that after the incident, he had hidden his clothes and his pistol in the bushes. He had come only to take these. Meanwhile, during checking near Karampur Mudhi village, when the SOG and Sadar Kotwali police asked him to stop, the accused started firing at the police. It is fortunate that no one was shot. After this the police retaliated and a bullet hit the accused’s leg and he fell down. After this the police surrounded him and caught him. The injured accused is undergoing treatment in the hospital. After treatment he will be sent to jail. The accused has been identified as Muntan, a resident of Bihar.
