India defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first match of the three-match T20 series on Sunday. India won the toss and chose bowling at Madhavrao Scindia Stadium in Gwalior. Bangladesh scored 127 runs in 19.5 overs. India achieved the target by losing only 3 wickets in 11.5 overs.
Team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya hit the winning six. Due to this, while playing the shot with his hand on the previous ball, he also missed the bat. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made their international debut in this match.

1. Mayank and Nitish debuted Fast bowler Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made their international debut in this match. These players got their debut caps before the toss of the first T20. 22 year old Mayank came to bowl for the first time in the last over of the powerplay, he bowled the over against Tauhid Hridoy and got 6 balls dotted. Whereas Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 16 runs on 15 balls. He also bowled 2 overs.

2. Varun played T-20 after 3 years Varun Chakraborty returned to international cricket after about 3 years. He played his last match in the World T20 on 5 November 2021 against Scotland. Varun became the second Indian cricketer to miss the most number of matches between two T20 International matches. Khalil Ahmed is on the top of this list. He played T-20 after 2019 in 2024.

3. Nitish took an easy catch in the 5th over, 15 runs were scored in the over. Spinner Varun Chakraborty came to bowl the 5th over of the powerplay. He created a wicket opportunity on the second ball itself, but Nitish Kumar Reddy dropped an easy catch at deep mid-wicket position. Tauhid Hridoy got a lease of life and hit a four on the next ball. Nazmul Hussain Shanto again hit a six on the last ball of the over. 15 runs were scored in the over.

4. Varun Chakraborty bowled Zaker Ali Varun Chakraborty took his second wicket in the 10th over of Bangladesh innings. He bowled Zaker Ali on the second ball of the over. Zaker could score only 8 runs on 6 balls. Zaker could not understand the ball and went forward to defend. But due to gap between bat and pad, he was bowled.

5. The bat left Hardik’s hand Three moments were seen in the 12th over. Hardik played a no-look shot over the wicketkeeper on the third ball of the over, which was a four. Taskin Ahmed bowled a short pitch ball, on which Hardik played a brilliant upper cut shot and scored a boundary.

Taskin bowled the fourth ball of the same over outside the off side. Hardik hit this four between point and short third man. However, while playing this shot, the bat slipped from his hand and fell towards the leg umpire.

6. Hardik hit the winning six over mid-wicket Hardik Pandya hit a six towards mid-wicket against Taskin Ahmed on the fifth ball of the 12th over. With this the team won the match by 7 wickets. Hardik scored 39 runs on 16 balls, he hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. Along with him, Nitish Kumar Reddy remained not out after scoring 15 runs.
