Alia Bhatt Says Ranbir Kapoor Discussed ‘Confusion’ About Animal With Her: ‘Fortunate That My Husband Is…’ – News18
When Alia Bhatt’s Jigra trailer came out, netizens compared it to several action films including Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. However, the actress said that both films have very little in common. Alia also revealed that she consulted Ranbir before Jigra and he did the same with Animal as there is no competition between the couple.
Alia said at a press meet, “I wouldn’t say there’s any competition between us.” She added, “I feel very fortunate that my husband (Ranbir Kapoor) is also my best friend and a wonderful actor. We often discuss our films and scenes with each other. I talked about Gangubai Kathiawadi and Jigra. Every time I had a confusion, I would discuss it with him and he did the same with me for Animal.”
Speaking about the comparisons, she said, “I know people have been comparing the two, but there really aren’t many similarities. It’s not just about Animal or Jigra; a common theme in many films is doing something for a loved one. It’s a genre in itself, and many movies have been made on these lines. So aside from that one aspect, there aren’t any direct similarities between the two films.”
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina are set to impress audiences in their action-packed film, Jigra, which has quickly become one of the most talked about films since its announcement. Ahead of its big screen release on October 11, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Jigra a U/A rating. The film’s run time has also been revealed. As per the CBFC website, Jigra has been given the U/A certification and has a run time of 155 minutes. This means the film has a duration of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Alia Bhatt is headlining the film and co-produced this Vasan Bala directorial venture with Karan Johar.
In the upcoming movie, Alia and Vedang play siblings, and their chemistry is already getting praise from the audience. The trailer starts with Alia Bhatt’s character receiving a late-night call, informing her that her brother, Ankur (played by Vedang Raina), has been arrested. Confused and worried, she asks him if he’s done anything wrong and if his blood tests will be clean. One then sees Ankur in a courtroom in a foreign country, unable to understand the language, as he’s taken into custody.
Determined to save her brother, Alia sets off on a mission, desperate to see him. She asks if hurting herself would force the authorities to let her visit him, but she’s repeatedly denied access. We watch as she travels to the country where he’s being held and begins her fight to get him released. The trailer picks up with intense action as Alia performs daring stunts, evading guards and taking extreme measures to save her brother, who is being tortured in jail. As she faces roadblocks at every turn, she refuses to give up.
