In the meeting of the core committee held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, discussions were held on the election visits to all ten seats so far and the preparation of further strategy based on the ground feedback there. According to sources, the date of by-election can be announced by October 20. In such a situation, the government and BJP also talked about fixing the electoral problems. Preparation of panel of potential candidates and election strategy for the second phase were also discussed in the meeting. According to sources, the discussion was on promoting issues related to nationalism against SP’s PDA.

General Secretary Organization Dharampal Singh informed that till now more than one crore 70 lakh members have become members in UP in the membership campaign. There was also a discussion on setting a target to have more than two crore members by October 15. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary were also present in the meeting.

Brainstorming on political appointments

According to BJP sources, political appointments in various commissions, corporations and boards were also discussed in the core committee meeting. Nomination of councilors and councilors is also to be done on the nominated quota seats in urban bodies.
