Despite the campaign being run to protect from cyber crime in Fatehpur, UP, people are falling prey to cyber criminals and becoming victims of fraud. Cyber Crime Cell has revealed one such case, in which the daughter of a retired Inspector, a student of M.Com.

After registering a case on the complaint of the victim teacher, Cyber Crime Cell has arrested a girl member of the gang from Delhi.

Fatehpur cyber crime cell in-charge Sunil Kumar Singh said that Rakesh Kumar Singh, a teacher of Sadashiv Inter College located in Rail Bazar of the city, had contacted the accused girl Garima Singh through internet media. After which Garima had withdrawn Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand from the teacher in the name of finance between 2017 and 2021.
In June 2023, the accused girl had withdrawn Rs 2 lakh 25 thousand from the teacher’s SBI branch account after obtaining a sample signature from the teacher by tricking him and getting the check book issued. Gang member Vishal Sharma, resident of Ghaziabad, who has already been arrested and sent to jail, had helped in this work.
The main leader of the gang absconding
He told that the main leader of the gang, Amit Sharma, is still absconding. Accused Garima is an M.Com student in Delhi, Garima has been arrested from the house of her father, retired sub-inspector Himmat Singh, resident of Om Bihar Phase-2 of Uttam Nagar police station, Delhi.
Said that the arrested student works in a private company in Delhi. Before this, Garima had gone to jail on 11 August 2023 in Hapur city police station for fraud and IT Act, and came out on bail after three months.
