Doctor Afzal of Raza Nursing Home operating in Utraula Nagar area has been seriously accused of negligence in the death of a newborn. Firoz, resident of Shahpur Itai Karamahiya, has said in the complaint given to the police that his pregnant wife Afreen was brought to Raza Nursing Home on October 6 for treatment on the complaint of stomach ache, but due to the negligence of the doctor, her newborn baby lost his life. According to complainant Firoz, his wife Afrin was taken to Raza Nursing Home by their neighbor Rabia for treatment. Firoz alleged that the doctor at the nursing home treated Afreen by applying heavy pressure on his stomach and sent him home. As soon as she reached home, Afreen’s health deteriorated further, after which she was again taken to the nursing home. There the doctor performed the operation, but during this the newborn died.

Did not hand over the body, performed the last rites himself

The most shocking thing was that the doctor did not hand over the body of the dead newborn to the family members and performed the last rites himself. After this incident, the victim’s family has complained to the police and sought justice. Firoz said that not handing over the body of the newborn is not only inhumane, but also crosses the limits of negligence.

At the same time, Doctor Afzal of the nursing home has termed these allegations as baseless. The doctor says that all the allegations made by the family members are false and he did not show any negligence in the treatment. Utraula Kotwali in-charge Sanjay Dubey said that he has received the complaint and the matter is being investigated. Also, Utraula CHC Superintendent Dr. Chandra Prakash and Kotwali police together visited the spot and investigated the matter.

Balrampur CMO Dr. Mukesh Kumar Rastogi said that a report has been sought from the Superintendent. After investigation, if the doctor is found negligent, then strict action will be taken against the culprits and no one will be spared.
