The Institution of Engineers organized a state level seminar on the occasion of World Habitat Day at Engineers Bhawan, Lucknow River Bank Colony. This year’s theme was youth participation in a better urban future.

Prof. was the chief guest in this program. Subodh Shankar was present. Satya Prakash started the program by welcoming all the guests. VV Singh and Masarat Noor Khan were also present on the occasion.

Discuss the problems of global warming The chief guest discussed the problems of urban environment and global warming. He said that by 2050, 70% of the population is likely to live in urban areas. Pro. Shankar described active participation of youth as necessary to solve these problems.

He also pointed out that most cities in the global south are young, but the number of slums is increasing due to population density and poor construction techniques. In this context, the United Nations has talked about empowering the youth.

Discussion on education and awareness of youth in India Ashish Yadav told that the United Nations has started celebrating World Habitat Day since 1986. Also, in today’s time, education and awareness of youth in India as well as in the whole world is very important. Concluding the program, Honorary Secretary of the organization VP Singh thanked all the dignitaries present.
