Women’s World Cup- England reached the top of Group B: Beat South Africa by 7 wickets; Sophie Eccleston Player of the Match

In the 9th match of the Women’s World Cup, England defeated South Africa by 7 wickets. With this, England has reached the top of Group B. At the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat and scored 124 runs losing 6 wickets. Sophie Eccleston took 2 wickets for 15 runs.

Chasing the target, the England team played an innings of 48 not out with Natalie Siver Brunt unbeaten on 48 and opener Daniel Wyatt scoring 43 runs. Both of them made a partnership of 64 runs in 55 balls for the third wicket. Due to the match winning partnership, England won the match with 4 balls remaining.

Sophie Eccleston bowled out South African captain Laura Woolworth for 42 runs.
