Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer Jigra has finally released in theatres today. The film is clashing with Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Neetu Kapoor has shared the first review of Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra and is all praise for the film. The veteran actress attended the film premiere in Mumbai on Wednesday night. She joined director Vasan Bala and daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt at the screening.
Neetu took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday and praised Alia’s performance. Giving the film a five-star rating, Neetu said, “Alia Bhatt, you nailed it.”
The film revolves around Alia, who plays Vedang Raina’s sister, who is on a mission to rescue her brother from a foreign jail. The trailer was released last month and it showed Alia going all out in terms of action and drama.
Speaking about Vedang, Alia told Karan Johar and Jr NTR, “Vedang is fabulous. He is amazing. I don’t think he knows how amazing he is. I told him when we did a very important scene, where he was crying, that one good thing is that you cry prettily and it’s a good thing for a Hindi film hero. He is so hardworking. He is also very instinctive but also has some sort of prep. He reminded me a lot of Ranveer Singh and I told him this as well.”
Ahead of the film’s release, the team announced they are forgoing the concept of special screenings for the press.
“After much deliberation, we’ve unanimously decided to forgo pre-release screenings for our upcoming films. This decision has been difficult to make, however, we believe it’s a necessary step in ensuring that every viewer, including our friends in the media, witness our stories as they were meant to be experienced,” the statement read which was released earlier this week.
