A major raid has been conducted against the mining mafia in Unnao on the instructions of the District Magistrate. The police force, led by mining officer Gaurang Rathi, conducted a raid near Sahjani railway crossing, in which a JCB machine and three dumpers were seized.

According to the information, this action was taken in connection with the ongoing illegal mining activities in the dark of night. A big game of mining mafia was going on in the area, due to which the nearby villages were in danger. Three dumpers were caught at Sahjani turn of Gangaghat police station, which were later parked in the police station.
Mining Inspector and Accountant Satyam Sharma and other officials were also present during the raid. However, the mafia henchmen managed to escape from the spot. The officials have assured that they will take strict action against the mafia and a fresh operation will be conducted to arrest them soon.

Instructions for constant monitoring The DM stressed the need for strict action against illegal activities and said that any kind of illegal activities will not be tolerated. He directed the officers to regularly monitor such areas where complaints of illegal mining are received.
