A huge crowd of devotees gathered in Gonda on the last day of Shardiya Navratri, due to which the administration has become alert. Keeping this in mind, Devi Patan Range DIG Amarendra Prasad Singh and Commissioner Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil marched on foot in Rani Bazar area.

Strict guidelines regarding security The DIG directed the organizers and police to immediately inform the local police and higher authorities in case of any untoward incident. He especially emphasized that there should be no lapse in security arrangements and the police force should remain alert in every situation. Apart from this, he directed all the Superintendents of Police to maintain constant vigil in their respective areas and control the crowd.
Inspection of 108 feet long pandal The Commissioner and DIG also visited the 108 feet long grand Durga Pandal built in Gonda and had darshan of Maa Durga. He went inside the pandal and inspected the security arrangements closely and instructed the organizers to make proper security arrangements. He asked to ensure that in any situation the crowd is controlled properly, so that the safety of the devotees is not endangered.
Keep a close eye on social media Commissioner Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil made special mention of monitoring social media on this occasion. He said that strict action will be taken against those spreading any kind of rumor or misinformation. Social media platforms are being monitored so that no anti-social element can try to spoil the atmosphere.
CCTV monitoring instructions The DIG directed all the officers to continuously monitor the pandal and the venue through CCTV cameras. He also said that officers should also keep watching the CCTV feed on their mobile phones, so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency.
deployment of security forces Seeing the huge crowd of devotees, the Commissioner directed to ensure that adequate number of security forces remain deployed till the end of the program. He said that no laxity will be tolerated in the matter of security.
