Divya Khossla Takes Indirect Dig at Karan Johar Amid Jigra Box Office Row: ‘When You’re Shamelessly…’ – News18
Divya Khossla Kumar launches another indirect attack on Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt over Jiigra.
Divya Khossla Kumar accused Alia Bhatt of rigging the box office numbers for her latest release Jigra, which is jointly produced by Alia and Karan Johar.
Actress Divya Khossla Kumar has seemingly responded to filmmaker Karan Johar’s cryptic post about “silence is the best speech you’ll ever give to fools” following her claims that Alia Bhatt inflated the box office numbers of their newly released movie ‘Jigra’.
Divya wrote on her Instagram story, “Truth will always offend fools opposed to it.” In another story, she shared, “When you’re shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice, no spine.”
Divya Khossla Kumar’s Shocking Claims Against Alia Bhatt and Jigra
Divya Khossla Kumar accused Alia Bhatt of rigging the box office numbers for her latest release Jigra, which is jointly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions. She claimed that Alia allegedly purchased tickets for “fake collection”. On Saturday, Divya took to her Instagram Stories to take a dig at Alia by sharing a photo of an empty theatre. She claimed that the theatres for Jigra were mostly empty and suggested that Alia might have purchased her own tickets to artificially boost the film’s reported earnings.
Divya wrote, “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty… all theatres going empty every where.” “Alia Bhatt mein sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai… khud hi tickets kharide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #WeShouldNotFoolTheAudience #TruthOverLies #HappyDussehra,” she added.
Karan Johar’s Indirect Response to Divya Khossla Kumar’s Claims
In a subtle response, Karan Johar shared a cryptic Instagram post, just hours after Divya’s remarks, stating, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools.” While he did not directly address the controversy, the timing of his post seemed to suggest that it was a veiled reaction to Divya’s accusations against Alia.
Why Divya Khossla Kumar Made Shocking Claims Against Alia Bhatt
The post comes after chatter around the similarities between Divya’s film Savi and Jigra. Savi, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor, is about a housewife trying to break her husband out of a prison in England. In Jigra, Alia Bhatt’s character plans a jailbreak to rescue her brother from prison. Meanwhile, Vasan Bala’s Jigra had a slow start at the ticket windows. It was released on October 11. The film earned Rs 4.55 crore on the first day of its release, marking Alia Bhatt’s lowest opening in 10 years.
