The festival of Vijayadashami was celebrated with great pomp in Aligarh on Saturday. Like every year, Vijayadashami festival was organized at the exhibition ground under the aegis of Shri Ramlila Gaushala Seva Samiti. In which the victory of good over evil was celebrated.

During the festival, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnath, considered symbols of evil, were burnt. This time the effigy of Ravana was made of 65 feet. At the same time, the effigies of Kumbhakarna and Meghnath have been prepared of 55-55 feet. These effigies, considered symbols of evil, were burnt by Shri Ram and Lakshman on Saturday.

Various dignitaries of the city including DM, SSP were also present during the program.

War between Ram and Ravana’s army

Before the celebration at the exhibition ground, a procession of Lord Shri Ram’s throne and Maa Kali was taken out from Ramlila Ground. More than 55 people participated in it. In which the dolls of Shri Ram, Lakshman, Veer Hanuman, Ravana and others will be included. The procession will start at 1 pm, which will pass through various routes of the city.

Starting from Ramlila Maidan, the procession reached Mirumal Square via Arya Samaj Road, Madargate Square, Gandhipark Square, Mamubhanja. After visiting Srikali Sawari locality from Shri Radhamohan Temple, she joined the procession. Then the procession passed through Barhadwari intersection, Raghuveerpuri intersection, in front of Nai Tehsil and reached the exhibition ground at 7 pm.

Here a fierce battle was staged between Shri Ram and Ravana’s army. After which the act of killing Ravana at the hands of Shri Ram took place. After the victory over Lanka and the killing of Ravana, the carriages of Shri Ram, Lakshman, Sita etc. reached Ramlila Maidan Achaltal via Masudabad GT Road. About 70-80 tableaux were included in the Dola Yatra, which remained the center of attraction.

Organizers said that a special chariot was built for Prabhuram. Lord Ram reached the battlefield riding on a chariot with seven artificial horses. Ravana came there on a chariot with five horses. Apart from this, about 100 tableaux including Ganeshji’s tableau, Radha Krishna, Hanumanji, Shiva’s tableau, Kali tableau were included.

Dignitaries were present in large numbers

During the festival, along with the Ramlila Committee, Mayor Prashant Singhal, DM Visakh G., SSP Sanjeev Suman, ADM City Amit Kumar Bhatt, SP City Mrigang Shekhar Pathak, SP Dehat Amrit Jain, ASP Mayank Pathak and various senior officials of the district and members of the Fair Committee were present. Officials were present during the program.
