On the occasion of Dussehra festival, a crowd of lakhs gathered in Bindki tehsil of Fatehpur district to witness the historical killing of Ravana. In this program organized at Ramlila Maidan, a war was staged between Ram and Ravana, after which on the orders of District Magistrate Ravindra Singh, Lord Ram shot an arrow.

Chief guest Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan started the program by doing Aarti at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. Many prominent people including Bindki MLA Jai Kumar Jacky, Jehanabad MLA Rajendra Patel, Superintendent of Police Dhawal Jaiswal were present in this event.
At the same time, Ravana slaughter was organized at Ayodhya Kuti ground in the city under the supervision of former BJP MLA Vikram Singh, where BJP District President Mukhlal inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. At around 9 o’clock a battle was staged between Rama and Ravana and Lord Rama killed Ravana with a burning arrow. Many BJP officials were present in this program also.
Apart from this, effigies of Ravana were also burnt at various places like Abu Nagar, Patthar Kata Chauraha, Murain Tola, Radha Nagar, and Jairam Nagar.
Dussehra festival was celebrated with great pomp in rural areas also. Tableaux were organized in Kishanpur town, while in Asothar town a huge crowd of people gathered to see the tableaux amid police security. On this occasion, people fed each other sweet paan and hugged each other and wished them, due to which the joy of the festival was clearly visible in the entire district.
