In a program organized at IVRI in Bareilly, Padmashree Dr. Khadar Wali said that for the last hundred years, we have been falling ill by eating food laced with chemicals and are filling the coffers of doctors by handing over our life’s earnings. Whereas diet is your medicine. Dr. Khadar
,
He said that multinational companies have made our bodies home to diseases by feeding them contaminated food and are getting rich by selling medicines. The root of all our diseases is our diet. Farmers, not doctors, can heal this country.
Dr. Khadar also said that regular consumption of millet, which our Prime Minister has named as Shri Anna, is the only cure for all our diseases. It not only keeps our body healthy but also helps in saving the environment.
8 thousand liters of water is required to produce one kg of rice, whereas only 250 to 300 liters of water is required to produce one kg of millet. If we stop the cultivation of paddy, wheat and sugar and move towards millet cultivation, we will be able to provide water for the future generations for 5 thousand years.
If we do not learn a lesson, future generations will not forgive us. Chief guest of the program, founder president of SIS Group and Rashtriya Sangat Pangat, former MP Dr. RK Sinha said that actually 200 types of millets exist in nature.
But mainly consumption of two of the five millets, Kutki, Kangni, Sawan and Hara Sawan is most suitable for our health. It is a natural food item. Our ancestors lived a life of hundred years by eating millet. Now after the Corona disaster, people have come to know the importance of millet.
He said that it is unfortunate that the government is giving subsidy for the cultivation of paddy, wheat and sugarcane. Whereas 5 percent service charge is being charged on the production of millet. Consumption of millet not only makes our body healthy but also gives us the ability to fight diseases. There are only advantages in millet cultivation, there are no disadvantages. Our ancestors used to say sow and sleep.
State Forest and Environment Minister Dr. Arun Saxena said in his welcome speech that yoga is necessary for a strong body. Similarly, millet is essential for a healthy body.
Many dignitaries including MLA Sanjeev Aggarwal, MLA MP Arya, Advocate Anil Saxena, Sangat Pangat’s National Convenor Ratna Sinha were present in the ceremony. At the end of the program, Narayan College Chairman Shashibhushan expressed his gratitude to all the people who attended the program.
