Cameron Green out of Border Gavaskar Trophy: Will have to undergo back surgery, may also leave Sri Lanka tour

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting on November 22. Not only this, he may also have to leave the Sri Lanka tour to be held in the month of January.

The 25-year-old Green is about to undergo back surgery. Due to this he will have to stay away from cricket for at least 6 months. Cricket Australia issued a statement saying- ‘Green has decided to undergo back surgery. Because, his scans have found a unique problem, which is aggravating his back injury. Due to this surgery, he will not be a part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

This time 5 test matches will be played in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first match will start from November 22 in Perth.

Green plays a dual role in the team Green’s exclusion has dealt a big blow to Australia as he bats at number 5. Also does bowling. In the absence of Green, Steve Smith may once again have to bat at his regular position number-4.
