Paras Mhambrey joins Mumbai Indians: Has been a part of MI’s coaching staff before, will work with Malinga

Paras Mhambrey was the bowling coach of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup on June 29 this year.
Former Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has joined Mumbai Indians (MI) for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has also been a part of the coaching staff of MI in the year 2008. Mhambrey will work with current bowling coach Lasith Malinga under head coach Mahela Jayawardene. He will also be present in the mega auction to be held later this year.
The franchise made the announcement on Wednesday. Paras was the bowling coach of the Indian team that won the T-20 World Cup on June 29 this year.
Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore are the coaches of Rajasthan. Last month, Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore joined Rajasthan Royals. The franchise had announced the addition of both the Indian coaches on September 20. The Indian team won the T-20 World Cup under the coaching of Dravid and Rathore.
Paras became more successful as a coach than as a player Paras Mhambrey has played 2 Tests and 3 ODIs for India. His first class career was excellent, but he did not get much success at the international level. It is said about Paras that he is more a talented coach than a player.
Mahela Jayawardene becomes head coach of MI Just two days ago, Mumbai Indians (MI) have appointed Mahela Jayawardene as their head coach for IPL 2025. He replaces Mark Boucher, who was the team’s head coach in 2022 and 2023.
Earlier, Jayawardene was the head coach of the team for five consecutive years from 2017 to 2022. Although he was made the global head of the franchise in 2022 due to MI’s global expansion into other leagues, he has been brought back now.
