In Bareilly, the police, showing alertness, have seized the storage of several quintals of illegal firecrackers from a house. This action was taken on the information of an informer, in which the police raided the densely populated Mohalla Thakur Dwar.

Police said that about 8 quintals of illegal firecrackers and gunpowder have been recovered, which have been kept safe in the police station premises. Police are planning more raids in the area late at night, hence no report has been filed yet. However, the accused has fled from the spot.

Police station incharge Rajesh Babu Mishra and outpost incharge Balveer Singh were involved in this raid. He told that firecrackers were found kept near the kitchen, where a gas cylinder was also there. If any accident had occurred, there could have been massive loss of life due to the dense population.

Apart from this, a raid was also conducted on the storage of illegal firecrackers in Kurtara village under the leadership of SDM Trupti Gupta. Police said that raids are being planned at other places also, so that the sale and storage of illegal firecrackers can be completely banned.
