After doubling and electrification of the 111.37 km line from Banaras to Jhunsi, new speed will be set on the new route. The Commissioner of Railway Safety will conduct speed trials as soon as the work on the route is completed. The speed determined in this trial will be the maximum speed of the route. However, this speed trial will take place after October 22.
According to railway officials, the work from Banaras to Jhunsi and Rambagh has been completed. Prayagraj The work from Rambagh to Prayagraj (2.22 km) will be completed on October 21 and this entire railway section will be doubled. After this, trains will not stop anywhere on this track and the journey between Banaras-Prayagraj will be completed in about one and a half hour.
The team of engineers along with General Manager of North Eastern Railway of Gorakhpur Zone, Soumya Mathur and DRM Vineet Srivastava, tested the work of Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh route by GM special train. GM performed window trailing inspection. Instructions were given to rectify all the shortcomings before Mahakumbh.
Along with the railway officials, the works to expand the facilities for the fair passengers at Prayagraj, Rambagh and Jhunsi stations were also known. Jhunsi Station GM duly took information about the progress of all the construction works. Also saw the second entry gate under construction, passenger waiting room of the circulating area, boundary wall, high mast light, temporary toilet, approach road for night travel.
He inspected the panel room with all the progress works including the construction work being done on the station building, foot over bridge, platform etc. Brainstormed on alternative arrangements including facilities to be provided to the pilgrims during the Kumbh Mela.

General Manager Soumya Mathur and DRM Vineet Srivastava conducted a thorough inspection of Prayagraj Rambagh station and examined the preparations for the Kumbh Mela. Instructed the officials to complete the basic points for the convenience of the fair passengers. Said that the pace of development works of passenger facilities should be accelerated.
GM has constructed under construction passenger reservation centre, unreserved ticket counter, temporary food and water vending stalls, waiting rooms, additional entry and exit points, permanent and temporary platforms, passenger shed, RCC sold, foot over bridge, temporary waiting rooms, CCTV surveillance, boundary wall and Instructed to immediately complete the control room for proper management of the crowd.
During the window trailing of the Banaras to Prayag Rambagh railway section, the safety of the track, speed and operational arrangements were tested. Before this, the General Manager inspected the Major Rail Bridge No. 111 being built under doubling of Ganga between Jhunsi-Daraganj by motor trolley and reviewed the progress with the engineers.
RVNL officials said that at present the construction work of this major bridge is approved for double line substructure as well as superstructure. All the girders have been launched. Girder launching work was completed through duct at both ends. 96 percent formation work has been completed in Jhunsi-Prayagraj railway section.
