After doubling and electrification of the 111.37 km line from Banaras to Jhunsi, new speed will be set on the new route. The Commissioner of Railway Safety will conduct speed trials as soon as the work on the route is completed. The speed determined in this trial will be the maximum speed of the route. According to railway officials, the work from Banaras to Jhunsi and Rambagh has been completed. Prayagraj The work from Rambagh to Prayagraj (2.22 km) will be completed on October 21 and this entire railway section will be doubled. After this, trains will not stop anywhere on this track and the journey between Banaras-Prayagraj will be completed in about one and a half hour.

The team of engineers along with General Manager of North Eastern Railway of Gorakhpur Zone, Soumya Mathur and DRM Vineet Srivastava, tested the work of Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh route by GM special train. GM performed window trailing inspection. Instructions were given to rectify all the shortcomings before Mahakumbh.

RVNL officials said that at present the construction work of this major bridge is approved for double line substructure as well as superstructure. All the girders have been launched. Girder launching work was completed through duct at both ends. 96 percent formation work has been completed in Jhunsi-Prayagraj railway section.
