Dale Steyn will be associated with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA-20 in South Africa.
Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn will not work with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL-2025, although he will remain associated with Sunrisers Eastern.
The 41-year-old fast bowler wrote in a social post on Wednesday night – ‘Thank you to Sunrisers Hyderabad for having me as bowling coach in IPL for a few years. Unfortunately I will not be back for IPL-2025 either. However, I will continue to serve with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA-20 in South Africa.
Steyn was not available last season due to personal reasons. The franchise had appointed former New Zealand cricketer James Franklin as its bowling coach.
SRH was runner up in IPL-2024 Sunrisers Hyderabad team had reached the finals of IPL-2024, although the team had to face defeat by 8 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Steyn has played for various IPL teams Before becoming SRH’s bowling coach in 2022, Steyn represented Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions in the IPL. He last played for RCB in IPL2020. He is credited for playing a vital role in the development of Umran Malik and many other fast bowlers of Sunrisers.
