The way for elections on Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya may be cleared today. Former BJP MLAs Baba Gorakhnath and Ram Murat reached the Lucknow bench of the High Court on Wednesday to withdraw the election petition.

,

He filed an application in the court of Justice Pankaj Bhatia to withdraw the writ. The High Court will give its verdict in this matter on Thursday.

Baba Gorakhnath told Bhaskar – In 2022, independent candidate Shiv Murat had also filed a petition. They have also been brought to the High Court to withdraw the petition. In fact, on Tuesday, the Election Commission announced by-elections on 9 seats of UP except Milkipur seat.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that due to the petition filed in Lucknow High Court, elections will not be held now. After this, late on Tuesday evening, Baba Gorakhnath’s lawyer had said that the petition would be withdrawn.

Baba Gorakhnath said- After withdrawing the petition, he will request the Election Commission to hold elections for Milkipur along with 9 seats. He said- I want elections to be held in Milkipur soon. BJP will definitely win here.

Here, according to sources, BJP has also contacted the Chief Electoral Officer and the Election Commission. As soon as the application for withdrawal of petition is approved, its copy will be sent to the Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer. So that the Election Commission announces elections in Milkipur also by 17th October.

MP Awadhesh Prasad said – BJP’s bail will not be saved The writ which they are saying that we are going to withdraw. When I became MP on June 4, I resigned from the Assembly on June 12. The resignation from Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana was accepted. Then this seat became vacant. So it is called infectious. This means the writ is over. It was moral responsibility that he should have withdrawn the writ. Even after 4 months nothing has been done, now they are going to withdraw the writ. Our leader has said that war has been avoided, war has been lost. BJP has postponed the war and will lose. People here believe in me. The SP candidate and my son will win by thousands of votes. BJP will have no security here. BJP will be wiped out by 2027.

The petition can be withdrawn Kuldeep Pati Tripathi, Additional Advocate General of the state government in the High Court, said – In an election related case, the petitioner can apply for withdrawal of his petition at any time. Usually the High Court accepts the petition. Unless another petitioner intervenes. He says that this has happened many times, when the defeated candidate filed an election petition after the elections. Then the petition was withdrawn due to political or practical reasons.

Elections can be held after getting the approval of the High Court on time Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Nirman said – After getting the approval of the High Court on the petition of withdrawal of the petition of Baba Gorakhnath and Shiv Murat, he will inform the Election Commission of India and propose to hold elections. He said that if the Election Commission gets the order of the High Court in time, then it can also announce elections for Milkipur along with 9 seats.

Akhilesh targeted the government through gestures When elections were not announced on Milkipur seat, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at BJP and Yogi government. He wrote a post on X on Tuesday evening – The one who has avoided the war, understand that he has lost the war. He neither took the name of Milkipur seat nor BJP in this post.

In the Lok Sabha elections, SP had defeated BJP in Ayodhya. Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP candidate and outgoing MP Lallu Singh by 54 thousand votes. BJP was deeply shocked by the defeat in a religious seat like Ayodhya. Because PM Modi had inaugurated the Ram temple even before the Lok Sabha elections.

Former MLA said- Awadhesh Prasad had filed wrong document regarding this matter Dainik Bhaskar Talked to Baba Gorakhnath. He told- The affidavit (notary) which Awadhesh Prasad had filed at the time of nomination had expired. The rule is that if the notary date has expired, the nomination is cancelled. Due to this, the nomination papers of many candidates have already been canceled.

Baba Gorakhnath said- I had filed this writ on the basis of MLC Anoop Gupta case. Even before, such wrong documents have been filed and the form has been cancelled.

This was regarding the affidavit of Awadhesh Prasad given for Milkipur in the 2022 assembly elections. Then SP’s Awadhesh Prasad had won from this seat. Baba Gorakhnath of BJP was at second position.

Awadhesh Prasad said – EC should have conducted elections After the Election Commission’s decision, Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad said late on Tuesday evening that by-elections should have been held in Milkipur. BJP is nervous. Only SP will win from Milkipur.

Result of Milkipur in 2022 assembly elections Awadhesh Prasad got 1.03 lakh votes in the 2022 assembly elections in Milkipur. He defeated BJP’s Baba Gorakhnath by 13 thousand votes. Baba Gorakhnath got 90 thousand 567 votes. Earlier in the 2017 elections, Baba Gorakhnath became MLA from Milkipur.

Backward castes are decisive in Milkipur, Awadhesh is making strategy for Ajit Prasad Milkipur of Ayodhya is the hot seat in the by-elections of UP. The seat is reserved, that is, backward castes are decisive. In such a situation, SP has placed its bet on Ajit Prasad, son of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad.

Ajit is in direct competition with BJP. BJP has not declared its candidate yet. Many contenders are in line. CM Yogi has created the atmosphere for elections by making 4 visits to Ayodhya. This is the reason, he is not in a hurry to announce the candidate.

Awadhesh Prasad has become MLA twice from this seat in the 2012 and 2022 assembly elections. After being elected MP in 2024, he had to resign from the membership of the Assembly. By-election has to be held due to vacancy of seat.

Ajit has lost the election of District Panchayat member To start his political innings, Ajit had first tried his luck in the election for the post of District Panchayat member, but had lost. After this, this will be the first assembly election for Ajit. However, Ajit will be in the fray in the by-elections only in name. His father Awadhesh Prasad is contesting the elections. This will be a test of political skills for him also.
