This is the first time since the 1996 ODI World Cup that Pakistan has been given the opportunity to host an ICC event.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a proposal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding Champion Trophy 2025. According to Cricbuzz, PCB has said that Team India can return to India after playing every match and the Pakistani board will help them in this.
The report says that PCB has recently written a letter to BCCI. It has been said that if the Indian team does not want to stay in Pakistan due to security reasons and wants to return back to Chandigarh or New Delhi after every match, then the board will help them. A PCB official has confirmed this proposal. The reason for making this offer is the gap of one week between India’s last two matches.
The recent visit of Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to Pakistan has rekindled these discussions. Reports have revealed that the issue was raised several times during talks between Jaishankar and Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Doubt over Team India going to Pakistan In a media report in the month of April, it was claimed that the ICC could hold the Champions Trophy on a ‘hybrid model’ like the Asia Cup. A source in the ICC executive board had told PTI, ‘If the Indian government does not want to send Team India to Pakistan, then the ICC cannot put pressure on the board there. He will have to find an alternative.
Asia Cup matches were held in Sri Lanka on India’s request Last year also Pakistan had got the hosting of Asia Cup. Even then, when India did not go there, this tournament was held on ‘hybrid model’. The matches against India were held in Sri Lanka. In the final match held in Colombo, the Indian team won the championship by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets.
