After the arrest of Traffic Sub Inspector Kamlesh Pandey in Kaushambi, a big gang of illegal extortion has been exposed. Information has been received that every day Rs 10 to 15 lakh was collected in the name of entry.

This money was given to some people on a monthly basis and to some on a weekly basis. After the action of Anti Corruption Prayagraj Unit, SP has said to form SIT (Special Investigation Team) and start investigation to break this extortion gang.

Police were given huge amount every month in the name of entry

Every day around 300 to 400 vehicles laden with sand, ballast and cement pass through Kaushambi. Many of which are overloaded. Every month, Rs 8 to 10 thousand were collected from the drivers of these overloaded vehicles in the name of entry. On Tuesday, Traffic Sub Inspector Kamlesh Pandey was arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000. Due to which this illegal extortion racket was exposed.

Kamlesh Pandey has made many shocking revelations in his statement to the Anti Corruption Unit. It is being told that mining, RTO, tehsil, traffic and related police stations were given huge amount every month in the name of entry.

No one found guilty will be spared

Some agents used to deposit money once a week. People associated with the transport business say that the daily collection used to be around Rs 10 to 15 lakh. After this action, the problems of many officers have increased and they are now distancing themselves from this recovery network.

SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said that the administration and police teams have been continuously taking action against overloaded vehicles. The arrest of a traffic sub-inspector in the case of illegal extortion is serious. To investigate this matter, a SIT will be formed under the leadership of Circle Officer, which will investigate in depth. Anyone found guilty will not be spared.
