The court has sentenced the person who raped a minor to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 thousand.

The court has sentenced the accused, who raped a mentally weak minor girl in Atrauli police station area of ​​Aligarh, to 20 years of imprisonment. On the basis of witnesses and evidence, the court found the accused guilty and gave the verdict after just 28 days.

The trial of the case was going on in the court of Special Judge POSCO ADJ Surendra Mohan Rai. In which the testimony of neighbors and digital evidence were also presented in the court. Along with imprisonment, a financial penalty of Rs 50 thousand has also been imposed on the culprit. Out of this amount, Rs 40 thousand will be given to the victim’s family.

Had committed rape on the pretext of toffee

ADGC Mahesh Singh said that this incident happened on the afternoon of July 19. Convict Bharat Bhushan alias Sonu had committed the rape of an 11-year-old mentally challenged girl living in the neighborhood in Sarai Totaram locality of Atrauli.

The culprit had lured the girl by giving her toffee and Rs 10 and took her to his home. After this, he went to the terrace and did obscene acts and raped her. A person living in the same locality had seen his action and made a video of it. After which he raised an alarm and ran to catch him.

The girl had told her mother what happened

After the incident, the neighbor chased the culprit, after which he fled from the spot. The girl went to her home and told her mother the whole story crying. When the girl’s father came home in the evening, he came to know about the matter. After which he filed a case in Atrauli police station. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused.

Country’s second case, state’s first case

This is the first case in the country in which punishment has been awarded after the implementation of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). This is the first case in Uttar Pradesh in which the court has sentenced a BNS culprit. With the punishment of the culprit, this record has come in the name of Aligarh. The state’s first conviction in BNS is in a sexual offense case.

3 October – Testimony of the investigating officer and the station in-charge took place.

October 5 – Statements of the accused were recorded before the court.

October 10 – Oral evidence presented in court.

October 14 – The final debate took place between the two sides.

October 19 – Court found the accused guilty and sentenced him.
