Posting on Facebook, Priyanka Gandhi wrote – “The news of the kidnapping and murder of Shobhit, son of bullion trader Rakesh Kaushal of Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely heartbreaking. May God grant peace to the departed soul. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

In Uttar Pradesh, the courage of the miscreants is so high that Shobhit was kidnapped from his shop and murdered. There is tremendous anger among the people of Rae Bareli regarding this. There is no such thing as law and order left in Uttar Pradesh. My demand from the state government is that strict action should be taken in the matter and justice should be done to the victim’s family.”

Father had lodged a missing complaint Actually, Shobhit Kaushal, son of a jeweler in Unchahar, Rae Bareli, was sitting in his shop on Friday. Meanwhile his friends came to the shop and took him with them. When the son did not return for a long time, father Rakesh Kaushal filed a missing report at the police station.

Father Rakesh Kaushal told that I have a bullion shop in Unchahar town. On which Shobhit also used to sit. A day before, he had gone out from the shop to hang out with his friends. He did not return home till late evening.

People created ruckus after the dead body of businessman’s son was found.

The police did not work properly We tried to find out but could not find anything. After a lot of searching, when no trace was found, we went to complain to the police. My son was missing since yesterday, but the police did not do their job properly. Had the police been alert, my son would have been alive.

The father of the deceased further told that when I went to the police station on the evening of 17th, he told the police – You guys search for my son. But the police said – find out only when you get complete proof. The police remained idle, had they searched, my son would have been alive.

Body recovered on informer’s information Police station chief Unchahar said that the family members of the deceased youth had informed about the youth’s disappearance a day before. Due to which the police had deployed their sources to search for the young man everywhere. At around 11:00 am, on the information of the informer, we went to the spot and found the dead body of the young man.

Prima facie, there seems to be a suspicion of murder in this entire matter. A case has been registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by the relatives of the deceased youth. Investigation into the matter has been started.
