Ballia Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer has suspended Chief Constable Govind Kumar Jha with immediate effect on serious allegations of negligence in duty and indiscipline. There has been a stir in the police department after this action.

The incident of 27 August became the reason The incident occurred on August 27, 2024, when Govind Kumar Jha was deployed on duty for the production of prisoners from District Jail Mau in Ballia Police Lines. When searched during duty hours, he was found missing. A report was filed regarding his absence, but even on this he did not improve. Meanwhile, during his absence, Jha went to the Additional Superintendent of Police North office and spoke loudly, which led to breach of discipline.
Immediate action on negligence and indiscipline Accusing Chief Constable Govind Kumar Jha of gross negligence, indifference and inaction towards duty, SP Vikrant Veer suspended him without any delay. This indiscipline forced the Superintendent of Police to take such strict action.
