The festival of Karva Chauth, considered a symbol of unbroken good fortune, was celebrated with great pomp across the district on Sunday. Married women kept fast for the whole day and worshiped as per rituals. After this, when the moon appeared in the sky at night, she saw the moon and saw her husband.

Married women started preparations for the puja from the evening itself. He performed sixteen adornments and then worshiped as per the rituals along with the elders of the family. During this time, the newly married people were also enthusiastic about the fast and they performed puja with their mother-in-law and elderly women of the family and prayed for the long life of their husbands.

Had to wait to see the moon
After fasting and worshiping, the married couples had to wait for the darshan of the moon like every year. But this time Chandra Dev did not make them wait for long and appeared on time to the fasting women.
The moon was expected to rise at 8 pm in Aligarh. But Moon God rose with some delay. As soon as the moon appeared in the sky at 8:10 pm, women offered Arghya to it and broke their fast by drinking water from the hands of their husbands. During this time people also burst fireworks.
The married women saw the moon as per the rituals and completed their fast.
Karva Chauth fast has special significance
Astrologer Pandit Hriday Ranjan Sharma told that the fast of Karva Chauth has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. It is believed that during the Mahabharata period, Draupadi also observed a fast on Karva Chauth for the long life of the Pandavas. One day Arjun went to Nilgiri. Pandavas had to face a lot of difficulties from behind.
Draupadi sought help from Lord Krishna. He told Draupadi that in such a time of crisis, Mother Parvati had asked Lord Shiva what to do. Then Bholenath had advised to observe Karva Chauth fast to overcome the crisis. After this, Draupadi had kept the fast of Karva Chauth, due to which the crisis faced by Pandavas was averted.
There was a crowd in the temples to listen to the fast story
On the occasion of Karva Chauth, a large crowd of married women was seen in the temples of the city. Women reached the temple with their families and known married women and worshiped with full rituals. On this occasion, he listened to the fast story of Karva Chauth, after which he went home and saw the moon and then broke his fast.
By offering Prasad in temples like Tikaram Temple, Nav Durga Temple, Pathwari Devi Temple, Durga Temple, Lord Ganesh Temple located at Achaltal etc. in the city, the fasting women prayed to God to remove all the troubles of their husbands and for happiness and peace in the family. In view of the festival, special decorations were also done in the temples.
