A woman from Lalganj committed suicide by hanging herself in a hotel near Jhakarkati bus stand in Kanpur on Sunday. The woman had a love marriage, but got divorced due to a dispute with her husband. The husband had separated with both the children. Here even the parents refused to keep them together

ADCP Central Mahesh Kumar said that Taharunisha (27), daughter of Naseer Shah, resident of Behta Kalan of Lalganj police station area of Rae Bareli, has committed suicide by hanging herself. Taharunisha stayed in room number 104 of Hotel Evergreen near the bus stand of Raipurwa police station area on Saturday evening. The incident came to light on Sunday when the cleaning staff of the hotel arrived. The police called the forensic team and conducted the investigation. Also, information about suicide was given to the woman’s family, but her husband and maternal family refused to come.

Woman used to live in live-in after love-marriage and then divorce In 2013, at the age of 14, Taharunisha went against her family and went with Vinod Sahu, who lived in the neighbourhood. After which Naseer had filed a case against Vinod in Lalganj police station. After about nine years, she reached her maternal home with two children, but her relatives refused to accept her. Meanwhile, the police sent Vinod to jail on charges of kidnapping Taharunisha. After getting bail, Vinod refused to adopt Taharunisha after keeping both the children. Meanwhile, about two and a half years ago, she met Raj Sagar, a resident of Dabauli village. As their friendship grew, both of them started living in a live-in relationship.

Sagar made her open a boutique from which she was earning her living. A few days ago, Taharunnisha came to know that brother and sister are getting married on 20th November. After which she reached her maternal home three days ago, but her relatives refused to accept her and sent her away. Since then, Taharunnisha, who was under mental stress, committed suicide after reaching the hotel on Saturday night.
