When Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new terminal building along with the expansion of the runway of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, the government machinery got busy in its work. Now big planes will land in the airport which will be built at a cost of Rs 2870 crore.
The rules of the Civil Aviation Ministry will be strictly followed. No structure shall be constructed or installed higher than the height restriction rules for safety of aircraft operations.
No tree growing at a height exceeding the prescribed height shall be planted on any land within a radius of twenty kilometers from the airport. Leveled roads and leveled railway lines within one kilometer of the airport boundary will also be subject to issue of No Objection Certificate.
If officials are to be believed, hundreds of buildings in the area will come under aviation standards and many of their floors will be demolished. Now, as per the standards in the 20 km area, construction work will be ensured only after getting the map approved and NOC from the Varanasi Development Authority.
