Fearing the presence of a leopard, people refused to let their children come out of their homes as the evening approached. The villagers living in Revatapur of PGI police station area said that people sleeping outside their houses had seen a leopard type wild animal late on Sunday night.
When the noise was raised, the villagers ran with sticks but the animal was not seen. The next day, on Monday morning, people saw the claws of the animal matching the claws of the leopard.
Forest Inspector Ranjit Kumar said, after receiving the information last Sunday evening, two cameras were installed in Team Revtapur for two days. But no such animal was seen. The team has been combing for two days.
