Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have been in the spotlight recently due to speculations about their marriage. However, both Abhishek and Aishwarya have remained silent, refusing to comment on these unverified rumours.

Amidst this, an old interview from 2022 has resurfaced online, where Abhishek fondly speaks about his marriage to Aishwarya. The couple, who tied the knot in 2007 and shares a daughter, Aaradhya, have now been married for 17 years. In the interview, Abhishek sat down with his Dasvi co-star, Nimrat Kaur, for a chat with Bollywood Hungama, where marriage became a topic of discussion.

During the conversation, when the interviewer mentioned the timeline of his own marriage (he had completed 15 years too), Abhishek added a “touch wood” and said, “Damn good, yaar.” However, Nimrat Kaur cheekily chimed in with, “Marriages don’t last that long.” Her witty remark made Abhishek laugh, and he simply replied, “Thanks.” Nimrat then clarified that “it was a compliment for you.”

But the conversation didn’t end there. Abhishek went on to praise Aishwarya for being a constant pillar of support throughout their marriage. “I think it’s high time we acknowledge that women are the superior species compared to men,” he said, adding that Aishwarya has an incredible ability to put things into perspective.

Abhishek explained how Aishwarya, with her extensive experience in the industry, always knows when he needs support after a difficult day and when to give him space. He fondly recalled how she keeps things balanced and helps him focus on the positives, especially when dealing with negative comments. “I’m very lucky to have a partner who sets things straight for me,” Abhishek said.
