KL Rahul scored 0 and 12 runs in the first Test against New Zealand, which India lost by 8 wickets in Bengaluru on Sunday.
KL Rahul, who was only able to score 0 and 12 runs in the first Test against New Zealand, has been dropped from the playing XI for the second Test, which is taking place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Bengaluru. He is replaced by Shubman Gill in the playing XI. Gill missed the series opener due to fitness-related issues.
Apart from KL, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj are also missing from the playing XI, and they are replaced by Washington Sundar and Akash Deep, respectively. Sundar, who last played a Test match for India in 2021, scored a century as a No. 3 batter for Tamil Nadu in the last Ranji Trophy match played against Delhi at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and opted to bat first. The visitors have made one change to the playing XI. In place of Matt Henry, Mitchell Santner is playing. Henry picked up a total of eight wickets
