Singham Again vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: T-Series demands 50-50 screen split

The upcoming Diwali box office clash between Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has taken a serious turn. With only days left before their November 1 release, T-Series, the producers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, have reached out to the Competition Commission of India (CCI), accusing the makers of Singham Again of unfair practices regarding screen allocation.

T-Series has urged the CCI, a body responsible for ensuring fair competition and consumer welfare, to intervene and guarantee an equal split in theatre screen time. The production house is pushing for a 50-50 screen allocation between the two films.

A source told indianexpress.com, “PVR Pictures, the distributor of Singham Again, has secured over 60 percent of the shows at PVR Inox theatres for the film. Additionally, several single-screen theatres have been instructed to reserve all showtimes for Singham Again, with some theatres only offering Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 early morning slots.”

Facing a potential disadvantage at the box office, T-Series decided to escalate the matter to the CCI, requesting equal show distribution between the two Diwali releases.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time such a conflict has occurred for Ajay Devgn. The actor previously approached the CCI in 2012 when his film Son of Sardaar clashed with Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan during the Diwali season, alleging a similar issue.

Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, stars a powerhouse cast, including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 brings back Kartik Aaryan, along with Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri, raising the stakes for this box office showdown.

Both films are set to release on November 1, making this one of the most significant clashes of the year.
