This year, the Agriculture Department will distribute about 6500 quintals of wheat seeds to the farmers in Ayodhya. The wheat distributed to the farmers has reached the warehouse. After Diwali, wheat seeds of improved variety will be distributed to the farmers after registering them.

This time the Agriculture Department has set the target of wheat sowing at 96 thousand 83 hectares, which is 1 thousand 917 hectares less than last year.

Wheat belongs to these species

The objective of the Agriculture Department is to provide timely seeds to the farmers so that they can sow wheat at the appropriate time and get more production. The species for which the department has demanded seeds include HD-2967, DBW-187, PBW-154, DBW 222, DBW 303.

The Agriculture Department believes that according to the geographical conditions here, good production is expected from the sowing of these seeds. This year, the target of wheat sowing in the district is 1917 hectares less than last year. Last year, wheat was sown in 98 thousand hectares, whereas this time the target has been kept at 96 thousand 83 hectares.

Deputy Director Agriculture Ayodhya PK Kanojia said that about 3200 quintals of wheat seeds have reached the warehouse. Seeds are being sent to every warehouse in the district. He said that compared to last year, wheat will not be sown in about 1917 hectares of area this year.

He said that oilseed crops like mustard, gram, lentils and peas will be sown in about 1000 hectares and preparations are underway. Along with this, maize cultivation will be done in about 100 hectares. All preparations have been completed. Soon after registration the seeds will be distributed.
