Rihanna confirmed she will be attending the 2025 Met Gala to support A$AP Rocky, who will co-chair the event.

Rihanna has confirmed her attendance at the highly anticipated 2025 Met Gala, where she will support her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, who will co-chair the prestigious event. In a recent interview, the singer revealed that while her specific fashion plans are still in the works, she is definitely set to attend the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5, 2025.

When asked about their style choices, the 36-year-old entrepreneur playfully shared that Rocky hasn’t revealed any details to her yet. “He didn’t tell me anything. All we have planned is to be there. I’m not worried about him; I’m worried about what I’m going to do,” she joked in her conversation with Entertainment Weekly. Rihanna also acknowledged that Rocky is always eager to offer fashion advice and extends his support to anyone who approaches him.

“I never ask him for help, but he’s always willing to help. You can come to him even if you’re an opp and say, ‘Can you help me on my project, give me advice?’ And he will give you advice. I’ve seen it,” she added.

The 2025 Met Gala will be co-chaired by a diverse group including A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as the honorary chair. This eclectic lineup will unite to celebrate the Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition, titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

According to Vogue, the exhibition draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. It will showcase garments, paintings, photographs and more, all examining the lasting influence of Black men’s style within the context of dandyism, spanning from the 18th century to the present day. Miller will serve as the guest curator for the exhibition, collaborating with Costume Institute Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton.

Rihanna has served up some serious looks at the Met Gala, leaving a lasting impression that continues to resonate with fashion enthusiasts. She made her debut at the event in 2009, turning heads in a stunning white halter gown by Georges Chakra.

Her other standout appearance was in 2018 where she wowed attendees in a papal-inspired creation from Maison Margiela by John Galliano for the “Heavenly Bodies” theme. Rocky has also left his mark at the Met Gala. He made his debut in 2021 alongside the Stay singer wrapped in a vibrant multicoloured quilt.

In 2023, the couple once again turned heads when they paid tribute to the late fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld. Rihanna’s ensemble featured a breathtaking white Maison Valentino gown with a dramatic train and textured rosettes. Meanwhile, Rocky opted for a Gucci look with a black blazer, a crisp white shirt and a plaid kilt layered over his sparkling jeans. His outfit referenced a similar look worn by Lagerfeld in a past Chanel show.
