Work worth more than one crore rupees is being done for Chhathi Maiya Puja under Govind Assembly of Kanpur. MLA Surendra Maithani arrived on Saturday to inspect the construction work of a total of 14 ghats in progress. He himself physically inspected 10 ghats.

The MLA got angry after seeing the slow pace of construction work on the ghat being built on the Armapur canal especially for the worship of Chhathi Maiya. Expressing his displeasure, he telephoned Municipal Corporation officer RK Singh in a strict tone from the spot and ordered him to expedite the ghat construction.

MLA arrived to inspect the ghats.

MLA Surendra Maithani said that before the worship of the upcoming Chhath Maiya, all the Chhath Puja Ghats will be prepared in a systematic manner. Such an environment will be provided in the Govindnagar Assembly so that the devotees of Chhathi Maiya from the entire city, including mothers and sisters, can worship the Sun God as per the rituals and with joy while expressing their faith.

MLA Surendra Maithani ji told that under the assembly, Ravidaspuram Chhath Ghat, Armapur Chhath Ghat, Bihari Chhath Puja Ghat, Armapur Chhath Ghat in front of KV 2, Mahadev Nagar Chhath Ghat, Vivekananda Nagar Ghat, Panki Ghat, MIG Panki Ghat are on time. The work of getting all the new 14 ghats including Prakash Vidya Mandir Chhath Ghat, Nauraiya Kheda Chhath Ghat, CTI Ghat, Dabauli West Ghat, Shastri Nagar Setter Park Ghat ready will be done well in advance.
