The third round of Ranji Trophy started from Saturday. On the first day, Gujarat batsman Priyank Panchal scored a century in the match against Rajasthan and made a partnership of 156 runs with Arya Deshai for the opening wicket.
In another match, Andhra Pradesh scored 295 runs at the loss of 6 wickets on the first day, thanks to 60 plus innings of Sheikh Rashid, Hanuma Vihari and KS Bharat.
Gujarat scored 285 runs losing 7 wickets on the first day In the match played at Sawai Man Singh Cricket Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan won the toss against Gujarat and decided to field first.
Gujarat had a good start. Priyank Panchal made a partnership of 156 runs with Arya Desai for the first wicket. Desai faced 119 balls and scored 86 runs. Whereas Priyank Panchal faced 208 balls and scored 110 runs. He hit 14 fours in his innings. By the end of the day’s play, Gujarat had scored 285 runs losing 7 wickets. Whereas for Rajasthan, Arfat Khan took 3 wickets, Kunka Ajay Singh took 3 wickets.
Three batsmen from Andhra played 60+ innings
Sheikh Rashid faced 132 balls and scored 69 runs.
Andhra Pradesh scored 295 runs losing 6 wickets on the first day against Himachal Pradesh at their home ground Visakhapatnam. Andhra Pradesh lost the toss and came to bat first.
Three of his batsmen played half-century innings and scored 60 plus runs. Sheikh Rasheed scored 69 runs facing 132 balls, Hanuma Vihari scored 66 runs facing 115 balls and KS Bharat scored 65 runs facing 39 balls. Rishi Dhawan and Divesh Sharma took 2-2 wickets for Himachal Pradesh.
