A major case of negligence of the forest department has come to light in Bargadiya village of Tadiawan police station area of Hardoi. The incident of running a saw on the lush green mango trees in the area has raised big questions on the collusion of the responsible officials.

According to the information, a green mango tree located near Bargadia Minor was cut indiscriminately late night. When the Forest Department was contacted about this, they shirked their responsibility by saying that the permit had been issued. But the question arises that the permit held by the contractor, which was issued by the Divisional Forest Director Social Forestry Hardoi, was for cutting of dry or semi-diseased trees. In such a situation, it is difficult to understand how the lush green trees were cut.
Villagers say that the tree which was cut was neither diseased nor dry. They are clearly saying that the Forest Department has arbitrarily issued permits to these lush green trees by showing them as dry. This shows that the responsible officials of Sadar Range have fraudulently recommended the permit without due diligence.
