On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the establishment of Divya Akhand Jyoti, a mass marriage program of 12 poor girls was organized on Sunday at Adi Shakti Peeth Maa Jwalamukhi Temple located in Shaktinagar, Sonbhadra.

In this ceremony, when 12 grooms left for the wedding procession, the townspeople gathered to see this unique wedding procession. The bride’s family and social workers also joined in the dancing and singing along with the wedding procession. There was an atmosphere of happiness everywhere to welcome the procession.
After the Dwar Puja, when the girls garlanded the grooms, everyone present in the pandal showered flowers. Amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras, all the couples tied themselves with each other for seven births by donating vermilion and taking seven rounds.
Madhya Pradesh Minister of State Radha Singh, the chief guest of this mass marriage program, started the program by lighting the lamp after the aarti of Maa Jwala Devi. He blessed the newly married couples by providing them with makeup and necessary wedding related items as gifts.
Shloki Prasad Mishra, chief priest of Maa Jwalamukhi Temple, while appreciating this initiative, said that such events also inspire people from the depressed sections of the society to celebrate their marriage ceremonies on a grand scale.
