Virat Kohli Loses Cool After Getting Out, Video Of Smashing Bat In Anger Goes Viral – News18

During his stay at the crease in the second inning of the 2nd Test, Kohli faced 40 deliveries and, with the help of two fours, scored 17 runs.
Virat Kohli came out to bat at No. 4 for India on Saturday (October 26) in the second inning of the second Test against New Zealand, which was played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. The 35-year-old right-handed batter wasn’t able to do much and got out after making 17 runs from 40 balls. He was trapped in front of the wickets by Mitchell Santner. Kohli challenged the on-field umpire’s call, but it went in vain, as due to the umpire’s call, he was declared out.
Kohli was left disappointed after his dismissal, and in a video going viral on the internet, he can be seen losing his cool and smashing his bat into the ice container during his way back to the pavilion.
India had high hopes from Kohli after Rohit and Gill got out early. The former India captain added 31 runs for the third wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal (77) but failed to convert his good start into a big score.
In reply to the target of 359 runs, India could only manage to score 245 runs in 60.2 overs and went on to lose the match by 113 runs. The defeat in Pune also ended India’s 12-year-old run of not losing a Test series at home.
In his first Test series as full-time captain of the New Zealand Test team, Tom Latham not only led the Kiwis to back-to-back wins over India, but he also went on to become the first Black Caps captain to win a Test series in India. New Zealand first travelled to India for a Test series in November 1955 but never managed to win a Test series in India. In fact, before the ongoing series, the Kiwis had only won two Tests on Indian soil.
The win became even more special for the visitors as it came in the absence of Kane Williamson. Williamson, who is New Zealand’s leading run scorer in Tests, is yet to arrive in India for the Test series due to fitness-related issues.
After winning the first two Tests, New Zealand would like to win the third one as well and whitewash the Indian team. The third and final Test of the bilateral series is scheduled to start on Friday (November 1) and will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
