There is a lot of anger among the villagers after the case of illegal digging of graveyard in Moulviganj village of Lakhimpur Kheri district came to light. BJP leader and block chief Divya Singh is accused of getting a JCB excavated in the cemetery without permission.

After this incident on Sunday, the local people met the District Magistrate and expressed strong objection to this work. It is being told that about 15 feet deep excavation was done in the western part of the cemetery, due to which 10-12 old graves were damaged. Local residents noticed that grave remains, shrouds, and bones were scattered during the excavation, sparking outrage in the area.
The villagers allege that local property dealer Ram Lakhan is behind this digging, who is trying to capture the cemetery land with the help of influential BJP leaders. On receiving the information, the police and revenue department team reached the spot and interrogated the JCB driver, however, the main accused Ram Lakhan did not come to the spot.
Amidst this controversy, block chief Divya Singh and other officials assured the villagers that from now on there will be no digging in the cemetery, but the villagers say that playing with religious sentiments will not be tolerated. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Revenue Department has ordered an investigation, and the villagers demand that strict action be taken against the culprits.
