During a wedding ceremony in Shahjahanpur’s Paraur police station area, a dispute between the wedding guests and some relatives of the bride’s side over food escalated so much that a fight broke out. Three cars of the wedding guests were also damaged in the fight, and some people suffered minor injuries.

The incident took place during the marriage of Upendra Pratap Singh, son of Gurunam Singh, resident of Mundi village of Ushait police station area of ​​Badaun district. Upendra had reached Ranjit Nagla village of Paraur police station area with his wedding procession on 24 October. While the wedding rituals were being performed, some wedding guests started eating food. It is being told that some people from the bride’s side tried to stop them, due to which an argument started. The wedding guests protested as to why they were being prevented from eating at the wedding, and the dispute quickly escalated.

The FIR lodged by the groom’s father states that the groomsmen were assaulted and three cars were also vandalized. It is also alleged that after the incident the accused fled from the spot threatening to kill. Paraur police station in-charge said that there was a dispute over stopping food from being eaten and a complaint was received about vandalism of vehicles. The matter is being investigated, and based on the complaint an FIR has been registered.
