ADCP Central Mahesh Kumar said that on the occasion of Diwali, Diwali was celebrated on Tuesday in the Government Children’s Home for Girls under the Mission Shakti programme. Chief guest DCP South Ankita Sharma, ADCP Traffic Archana Singh, ADCP Central Mahesh Kumar, ACP Srishti Singh and other officers reached the Girls Home. The officers distributed new clothes, sweets and crackers to the children.

- Keeping in mind the safety of women/girls, Uttar Pradesh Government has launched various helpline numbers – 1076 Chief Minister Helpline, 1090 Women Power Line, 181 Women Helpline Number – 112, Police Emergency Service, 102 Ambulance Helpline for pregnant women and newborn babies, 108 Ambulance. Detailed information was given regarding services, 1098 child line, 101 fire summon service and 1930 cyber helpline.
- All the orphan children present in the children’s home. An assurance was given to trace the families of the girls and reunite them with their families.
- Women and girls were made aware about the traffic rules and were asked to follow the rules themselves and make people in and around their home aware.
- Women/girls were told that instead of being afraid of incidents of molestation by miscreants and men in buses/roads/public places, they should immediately go to the helpline number 1090 and the police station and become aware of the FIR.
- On the occasion of Dhanteras, shawls were distributed to the children/girls to protect them from cold and Diwali was celebrated with them by lighting flower pots.
