According to departmental officials, special police surveillance is going on around major intersections and gold jewelery shops. In such a situation, Superintendent of Police Dr. Iraj Raja conducted a route march with heavy police force in the city Kotwali area to maintain security arrangements regarding the upcoming festivals.
Late last evening, the SP conducted foot patrolling/route march in crowded places and markets from police station Kotwali via Mishra Bazaar to Mahuabagh intersection and Visheshwarganj. During this, the Superintendent of Police took stock of the security arrangements in the city and also gave necessary instructions to his subordinates. During this, Additional Superintendent of Police City, Area Officer City, Inspector in-charge Kotwali and other officers and employees were present.
It is known that in view of Dhanteras and Diwali, there is a continuous increase in the crowd of people shopping in the markets. In such a situation, the police administration seems to be on alert to deal with any untoward incident.
