In Jaunpur’s Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, two teachers have been relieved of their duties due to indiscipline and serious allegations. This decision was taken in the emergency meeting of the Executive Council chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Vandana Singh on Monday.

The meeting was held in the Vice-Chancellor Auditorium through offline and online medium, in which the Council decided to relieve Dr. Sudhir Upadhyay, teacher of Environmental Science, and Dr. Vinay Verma, teacher of Institute of Pharmacy.

Dr. Sudhir Upadhyay was accused of misbehavior by many girl students of his department. An audio in support of the allegations also went viral. The Vice Chancellor had constituted a committee to investigate the matter, which gave a report in favor of the accused teacher. But the Executive Council objected to this and found that his conduct had been consistently inappropriate, due to which he was relieved.

On the other hand, Pharmacy Institute teacher Dr. Vinay Verma was accused of unfair evaluation and assault on teachers. Taking cognizance of this matter also, the Council relieved Dr. Vinay Verma from education service.

In this meeting, the previous meetings of the Study Council, Examination Committee, and Academic Council were also confirmed. The meeting was conducted by Registrar Mahendra Kumar and on this occasion Prof. Jagdish Singh Dixit, Prof. Ajay Dwivedi, Controller of Examinations Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Finance Officer Sanjay Kumar Rai, Dr. Mohan Pandey, Dr. Sushil Kumar, and Dr. Manish Gupta and other members were present.
