AAJ KA PANCHANG, OCTOBER 31, 2024: On October 31, the Chaturdashi and Amavasya Tithis of Krishna Paksha will be observed, during which devotees will conduct Kali Puja to worship goddess Kali. This ritual, held on the new moon day, is particularly significant during the Diwali festival and is predominantly celebrated in West Bengal, Orissa, and Assam.

Astrologer Vinod Soni Pauddar from Bhopal emphasises that Diwali is traditionally celebrated on the night of Amavasya. He notes that the Amavasya Tithi begins on October 31 at 2:40 PM and lasts until the morning of November 1, recommending that Diwali Puja be performed on October 31.

He also warns that celebrating Diwali on November 1 may be considered inauspicious according to Shastra Samvat.

SUNRISE, SUNSET, MOONRISE, AND MOONSET ON OCTOBER 31

Sunrise is anticipated at around 6:32 AM, with sunset expected at approximately 5:36 PM. The moon is forecasted to rise at 6:14 AM and set around 4:51 PM on November 1.

TITHI, NAKSHATRA, AND RASHI DETAILS FOR OCTOBER 31

On this day, the Chaturdashi Tithi will remain in effect until 3:52 PM, after which it will transition into the Amavasya Tithi. The Chitra Nakshatra will continue until 12:45 PM followed by the Swati Nakshatra. The moon will be positioned in Kanya Rashi until 11: 15 AM and then shift to Tula Rashi. The sun will reside in Tula Rashi.

SHUBH MUHURAT FOR OCTOBER 31

On October 31, the auspicious timingsbegin with Brahma Muhurat from 4:49 AM to 5:41 AM, followed by the Pratah Sandhya from 5:15 AM to 6:32 AM. The Abhijit Muhurat will last from 11:42 to 12: 27. The Vijaya Muhurat will last from 1:55 PM to 2:39 PM. Later in the evening, Godhuli Muhurat will occur from 5:36 PM to 6:02 PM, and Sayahna Sandhya will last from 5:36 PM to 6:54 PM. Nishita Muhurat is set to occur from 11:39 PM to 12:31 AM on November 1, while the Amrit Kalam Muhurat will be observed between 5:32 PM and 7:20 PM.

ASHUBH MUHURAT FOR OCTOBER 31

The inauspicious timings for the day are as follows: Rahu Kalam Muhurat is projected from 1:27 PM to 2:50 PM, Yamaganda Muhurat from 6:32 AM to 7:55 AM and Gulikai Kalam Muhurat from 9:18 AM to 10:41 AM. The Baana Muhurat occurs in Raja until 9:12 AM.
