IPL’s new retention rule Now franchise teams can retain 6 players before the IPL mega auction. In which maximum 5 international and 2 uncapped players can be included. International player can be from any country, but uncapped player must be from India only.
Suppose, Mumbai Indians retained 5 international players, then the team will now be able to retain only an uncapped player as the sixth player. Whereas if the team retains 4 international players, then they will have the option to retain 2 uncapped players.
