Harishankar Shukla, resident of Manimau village of Sadar Kotwali, was returning home on bicycle late in the evening after doing market. As soon as he started crossing the road on the highway in front of Ramchandra Cold Storage in Manimau, a speeding car hit him hard. Due to which he jumped and fell away. The collision was so severe that he died on the spot.

As soon as information about the accident was received, Manimau outpost incharge Shekhar Saini reached the spot along with police personnel. Here the crowd was removed and the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. It was told that Harishankar Shukla was a clerk in DAV College, Kanpur, from where he had retired long ago. After which he came to the village and started farming. As soon as the news of his death in the accident was received, a large crowd gathered.
