50 lakh devotees from every corner of the country have arrived in Chitrakoot’s Diwali Amavasya. Devotees from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh are reaching Chitrakoot and donating lamps. The lamp donation fair has started in Chitrakoot, the holy place of Lord Shri Ram.

As evening approached, Dharmanagari was completely illuminated with colorful lights from the ghats of Mandakini River to Kamadgiri Parikrama. DM Shivsharanappa GN and SP Arun Kumar Singh themselves donated lamps in Mandakini, due to which Chitrakoot glowed with the light of 50 lakh lamps.
Police force deployed, magistrate took responsibility
Keeping in mind the security of the fair, police forces have been deployed at various places. Magistrates and police officers of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are also looking after the arrangements. In view of the increasing arrival of devotees, monasteries, temples, dharamshalas, hotels and lodges are all completely filled. The lighting of lamps in the entire fair area including Ramghat and Kamadgiri has made the atmosphere devotional.
DM-SP held briefing with officials
In the Ramayana fair complex, DM and SP had given instructions to keep the fair peaceful and orderly by holding a meeting with all the police officers including zonal, sector, static magistrate. DM Shivsharanappa said that on the occasion of Diwali, lakhs of devotees come here to donate lamps, hence all the officers should behave politely with the devotees. The entry of vehicles has been completely closed in the fair area and barriers have been installed at various places to control the crowd.
This fair of lamp donation in Chitrakoot has become a wonderful confluence of devotion, safety and peace, where everyone is getting blessed by getting the virtue of lamp donation in this holy place of Lord Shri Ram.
