This time, business worth around Rs 300 crore has been done in Balrampur on the occasion of Diwali. The markets witnessed rush of customers from various sectors like automobile, bullion, readymade garments and electronics. There was a steady stream of people from morning till late evening in areas like Veer Vinay Square, Saraifatak, Major Square, Pahalwara and Bhagwatiganj.

The process of purchasing automobiles that started from Dhanteras continued till Tuesday. About five thousand bikes and cars were sold in the market. Pre-booking was done for the cars, which were delivered to the customers at the auspicious time. Many showrooms also gave attractive offers during this period, which increased the enthusiasm among the customers.

A tremendous increase was seen in the sale of silver coins during Diwali. According to bullion traders, business worth about Rs 70 crore was done in this sector. There was also a good demand for light jewelery and puja utensils, due to which the bullion market remained vibrant.

On the occasion of Diwali, sales of readymade clothes and electronic goods were also excellent. Various offers and gifts attracted customers, which also led to good sales in the readymade garments market.
Traders happy with 20% increase
This time on Dhanteras, an increase of 20% has been seen in the markets of Balrampur as compared to last year. According to shopkeepers, inflation did not affect Diwali shopping, and customers continued shopping at auspicious times from morning till late night.

Firecracker shops have been decorated in the city as part of preparations for Diwali. The administration has issued temporary licenses to all the firecracker sellers in the parade ground. There are different types of firecrackers available in the market, which range from Rs 5 to Rs 6000. Cracker sellers say there are around 200 types of crackers available in the market this year, providing a wide choice to customers.
